The records will be in hand and shipping out within two weeks! All European customers should order from Denovali. Below is a preview of this beautiful layout put together by Andrew Weiss and Eric Nyffeler. These are sure to go quickly, so don’t take too long trying to decide on which color you want!
After months of test pressing problems and delays, the new tests of Giant Squid’s “The Ichthyologist” has been listened to by the band, the engineers at the pressing plant, and me and I’m incredibly happy to say, that the tests have officially been approved. This means the records will finally be going into production and should be shipping within a month. I can’t believe it’s taken so long, but I think you will be very happy once you have your copy in your hands and on your turntables.
In addition to this news, the East of the Wall / Year of No Light / Rosetta split has been sent off to the plant and Denovali and Vega Vinyl will have tests soon. To avoid delays and such, preorders will be up as soon as the tests are approved.
We may have an approved test of the Giant Squid record finally in our hands. I’m going to get a second opinion, and if they also think it’s good to go, we will finally be approving it and we will finally into the vinyl production stage. This means we are looking at a late February ship date.
In addition to this news, the 3 way split between Rosetta, East Of The Wall and Year Of No Light is going to the plant this week, and we will be putting preorders up for that as soon as we have approved tests, as to avoid another preorder delay fiasco.

Welcome back! It’s been quite a while since I’ve been able to update the actual site. To fix this situation, I’ve forced myself to learn a bit about website building, and I’ve finally got a site that I can update with easy, even if it is a bit simple right now.
As you all probably already know, the Giant Squid record has been delayed and delayed some more. This was due to errors found in the first 3 sets of test presses I received. I will be getting new tests any day now. I’m crossing my fingers and hoping they sound amazing. If they do, they will be approved and they will finally go into full production. This means they will HOPEFULLY be here by the end of January. If they still have errors, it will most likely be more like late February. It is totally out of my hands at this point, but I want the record to sound amazing, and I’m sure you do too. I sincerely apologize for the slightly ridiculous delays, but I couldn’t have put out such a high quality release without all of your preorders. You may have also noticed that in early 2010 we will be proudly releasing a three way split double LP with East of the Wall, Year Of No Light and Rosetta!
What you may not have known is that this will be a split release between Vega Vinyl and the good folks across the Atlantic at Denovali Records. We’ve been trying to work together on a release for a while now and it seems that we are finally going to make it happen. We are already working to get this out as soon as possible!
It’s crazy to think another year is over with. This year has been pretty awesome for music and one of my favorite things to do around this time of year is read as many “best of…” lists as possible to find great music I might have missed other wise. I will be posting my top records of the year as soon as I catch up on ones that I missed. Until then, happy holidays and have a safe new year!
